ModButton Lite SureFire Rat Tail Remote Switch

ModButton Lite is a smaller, lighter version of the original ModButton. The switch has the same transient activation as the original ModButton. It also has the same high-power cable and switch as the ModButton, but in a slightly smaller package without the integrated mounting. The switch is constructed from injection molded plastic and fully encapsulated to provide additional protection in harsh environments and ensure a durable, long-lasting switch. ModButton Lite uses Unity Tactical's patented design to support the power delivery required for next-generation high-output weapon lights such as Modlite.

Surefire: compatible cable leads made by Unity make the ModButton Lite backwards compatible with all Surefire:, Arisaka and Modlite reconnaissance airframes as well as Surefire UE and DS00 tail caps. If a continuous light is required, we recommend using the SF DS00 tail cap. One problem that exists today is that older conventional switches are unable to deliver the current required to run current and future generations of lights. These older switch designs do not allow Modlite lamp heads to operate at full power. Typically these switches reduce the output by 15-20%.

ModButton Lite features an updated plug design and improved electronics that allow ModButton Lite to deliver full power, so all lumens and candela are put to good use. The package only includes the switch PIC mounting rail and mounting hardware, and does not provide a tail cover.

We recommend using Surefire UE or DS00 tail caps, which can be found on the official website. Additionally, MLOK track adapters are available. A note on cable length options: For almost all conventions, 4.5 inches is what you need to buy.

Unless you have special installation needs, a 4.5-inch wire is sufficient even if you want to mount a laser sight.
