MEC Enhanced Tappet Plate spring is a piston leaf spring for air guns. It is the only piston leaf spring officially tested and approved by PTS. When using a fully loaded mid-capacity magazine, "midcap syndrome" can occur if the gas gun exhibits unnatural fps fluctuations and inconsistent BB feeding. This is because the spring in a loaded medium capacity magazine applies upward pressure, pushing the nozzle up out of position and creating resistance, preventing it from returning quickly to consistently chamber the next BB. In otherwise good-performing AEGs, the culprit is usually weak piston leaf springs. This problem tends to be more pronounced when using the 250 round capacity PTS EPM1, as the full load compression of the extremely long EPM1 magazine spring causes higher upward pressure than usual.
MEC Enhanced Tappet Plate Spring has been extensively tested in PTS EPM and EPM1 use. It fits most standard v2 and v3 gearboxes. It's made from the toughest steel wire and its heavy-duty capabilities make it a reliable and ideal choice.
